19-year-old keeps the car – blew past the police at 207 km/h

A 19-year-old driver lost the right-of-way with 207 km/h in Sweden. But because he is Norwegian, he can continue at home without any problems.

The police describe the 19-year-old man, whom law enforcement stopped on a motorway in Karlstad, as completely indifferent and probably 'without a fully developed sense of consequences'.

– The driver distinguished himself by driving twice as fast as the cars he overtook. So there was no doubt for me – he had to be focused on, says Petter Magnusson from Värmland's police to NWT .

The 19-year-old didn't just cut fast. He was the fastest. At least that day. However, Petter Magnusson states that motorists have been stopped for driving faster.

Compared to Danish conditions, the young driver also gets off really cheap. For good enough, the starter smokes, but he escapes with a fine of a total of 8,250 Swedish kroner, corresponding to 5,340 Danish kroner. On top of that, he must pay the equivalent of DKK 162 because he had forgotten his choir card.

The man's explanation that he was in a hurry to reach an agreement in Stockholm due to an emergency in the family, however, did not give much credit to the police.

– My experience tells me that it will not burden him and whether he can sing in Norway. It is in Sweden that he exceeded the speed limit. And this is where he will be charged for it, says Petter Magnusson.

The police do not say which car the very young driver was driving in. Another thing is that it is 'a sports car worth around half a million Swedish kroner'. So a good 325,000 Danish kroner.

Swedish police could not do much about the 19-year-old this time. But maybe they will have the opportunity very soon. The EU insists that Danish conditions must apply to all roads throughout the union. Read more about it here .
